Camilo Hirschhorn
Camilo Hirschhorn is an Argentine clarinetist and performer with artistic roots in Argentina and Germany. His artistic identity is shaped by the interplay of music, pedagogy, and community.
He completed his clarinet studies at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory in Buenos Aires and is currently continuing his education at the Berlin University of the Arts.
As a freelance musician, he performs regularly with various orchestras and chamber ensembles. His concert engagements have taken him to venues such as the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the Philharmonie Berlin, as well as to festivals including Transparent Sound New Music Festival, Impuls Festival, Crescendo Music Festival, and Klangwerkstatt Berlin. Camilo works on both clarinet and bass clarinet, employing extended techniques, exploring the boundaries of sound, and seeking connections between traditional folklore, improvisation, and contemporary musical expression.
Alongside his ensemble work, he initiates various duo projects in diverse formats and spaces, including a chamber music duo with pianist Danae Vritsiou and a long-standing collaboration with guitarist Julian Croatto. In these projects, classical music, folklore, and contemporary sound art enter into dialogue.
His cultural background is reflected in the music he performs: diverse, fluid, rooted, and open.
