Ádám Bajnok
Hungarian composer Ádám Bajnok (*1992) has an ongoing interest in timbral transformations and composite sound-surfaces that are perceived as a unified auditory image. His pieces investigate how sounds can be shaped like a freely formable material, as in a sculptor’s hands.
He graduated in 2022 as a master’s student at Universität der Künste Berlin, having studied as a pupil of Tom Rojo Poller. Prior to this he studied composition with Zsolt Serei and piano with András Kemenes at the Liszt Academy in Budapest. He attended numerous master classes among others with Elena Mendoza, Pierluigi Billone and Clara Iannotta. He values collaborative practices and has had several interdisciplinary works with contemporary dance. He is a co-founder of Kollektiv UNRUHE.
He has been commissioned by Zafraan Ensemble and Ensemble Orbis among others. His pieces have been performed at festivals such as Mixtur, Klangwerkstatt Berlin, Transparent Sound Budapest and rainy days. He lives in Berlin and teaches instrumentation and counterpoint.
