About the event

Water is a foundation of life, a resource, a site of political conflict, and a source of memory. Three new works by Luca Staffiere, Saemi Jeong, and José Luis Perdigón approach this element from different perspectives. They move between real climate and water data, destroyed landscapes and traces in the media, between electronic and performative forms of sound and the immediate materiality of acoustic instruments.
The works are concerned not only with water as it rises, is polluted, consumed, or causes destruction, but also with what remains when it disappears: traces, memories, and images of changing landscapes and habitats. Underwater Music invites us to consider water as an ecological and political resource while exploring its sensory and acoustic dimensions. In doing so, it opens up a way of listening to what is at stake as this foundation of life becomes increasingly fragile.
